Our HistoryThe ABC Group (ARELS Business Charter Group) was founded in 1998 with the aim to provide a direct conduit for business and professional people to those training centres specialising in business and professional English. Even though there was a close relationship with ARELS, the ABC Group was run as a stand alone organisation financially, and it arranged its own agenda in terms of marketing and publicity. When ARELS and BASELT became English UK in May 2004, the decision was made to change the name to BusinessEnglishUK to follow the English UK corporate identity more closely and to strengthen its bond with its parent organisation. This was ratified with immediate effect by the Committee at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in London on the 23rd of September 2003. Furthermore, the committee also ratified the groupæ¯ Charter and Constitution as well as the Vision and Aims Statement. |
